Advantage Sports
Terms of Use
Effective October 10, 2026.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Advantage Sports, Inc. ("Advantage", "we", "us") about using the Advantage app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you're a coach, you also agree to our Coach Code of Conduct, which is part of these terms. You'll be asked to tick a box to agree before you can use your account, and we keep a record of which version you agreed to and when. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must read these terms with you and agree to them for you. Parents and guardians: by letting your child use Advantage, you agree to these terms for them and for yourself, and you're responsible for their use of the app.
2. Who can use Advantage
- Players must be at least 13.
- Coaches must be at least 18 and must have the permission of their club, school or team, where one is involved, to coach the players they add. By using Advantage as a coach, you confirm that you've completed any background check and safeguarding training (such as U.S. Center for SafeSport training) that your club, school, league or governing body requires, and that you aren't barred or suspended from coaching or from working with minors.
- Give accurate information when you sign up, including your birth year, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens in your account; tell us straight away at help@advantagesports.io if you think someone else is using it.
- One person per account. Don't create an account for someone else or share yours.
3. Training safely
Advantage teaches how to read the game and how to perform skills. Soccer is a physical sport, and practicing it, including the drills in the app, carries a risk of injury.
- Practice only in a safe place, with the right equipment and, for younger players, an adult around. Diving, tackling and heading drills should be done with a coach.
- Warm up first, and stop if something hurts.
- If you take a knock to the head or have any sign of a concussion, stop, tell an adult, and don't play or train again until a medical professional clears you.
- Lessons about sleep, food, recovery and the mental side of the game are general education. They aren't medical, nutrition or mental-health advice; talk to your doctor, athletic trainer or coach about your own situation.
- If you're struggling or thinking about hurting yourself, tell a trusted adult. In the US you can call or text 988 at any time, or call 911 in an emergency.
By using the drills, you (and, for a player under 18, your parent or guardian) accept the ordinary risks of soccer training.
4. Coaches, teams, sessions and messages
Advantage gives coaches tools to follow their players' progress, assign lessons, take session bookings and send messages. Coaches who use the app are independent: they aren't Advantage employees unless we say so, and Advantage doesn't supervise their sessions. A booking in the app reserves a time and, for a private session, takes the payment (section 8); the session itself is between the player, the coach and any club involved.
Coaches agree to follow the Coach Code of Conduct, including to:
- follow the safeguarding rules that apply to them, including their club's or governing body's rules for working with minors;
- keep every message with a player professional and about soccer, and follow those rules on including a parent or another adult in messages with a player under 18;
- not ask players for personal contact details or to move conversations off the app without a parent's knowledge;
- report suspected abuse to the authorities as the law requires.
We don't supervise what people say or do. Advantage doesn't pre-screen, monitor or supervise messages, sessions, or what coaches, players, parents or clubs do, in the app or outside it, and we don't run background checks on coaches ourselves. Before a coach can sell private sessions, we record that their SafeSport training and background check are current, based on what the coach or their club shows us; that record isn't a promise about how anyone will behave. Each person is responsible for what they send and do. Parents and clubs are responsible for deciding which coaches their players work with.
Messages are kept. Messages stay in the app while the accounts in the conversation are open, and we may review them when someone reports a concern, to keep the app safe, or when the law requires.
Anyone can report a concern about a coach, a player or a message to help@advantagesports.io. We may look into it, remove content, suspend or close accounts, and tell the player's parent or guardian, the club, the U.S. Center for SafeSport or law enforcement. Where someone may be in danger, call 911.
5. Rules for using the app
Don't use Advantage to:
- bully, harass, threaten or embarrass anyone, or send sexual, hateful or violent content;
- pretend to be someone else, or lie about your age or role;
- share someone else's personal information without their permission;
- break the law or help someone else break it;
- copy, scrape, resell or republish the lessons, or use them to build a competing product or train an AI model;
- get into accounts or parts of the system you aren't meant to reach, or interfere with how the app works.
If you break these rules, we may remove content and suspend or close your account.
6. Our lessons and your content
Ours. The lessons, diagrams, exams, videos, design, name and logo in Advantage belong to Advantage or the people we license them from. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use them in the app for your own training, or, for coaches, to train the players on your team. That right ends when your account closes.
Yours. Messages and anything else you add stay yours. You let us store, show and process them only as needed to run the app for you and the people you're talking to.
Ideas. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we can use them freely, without owing you anything.
7. The pilot, fees and changes
The pilot. Advantage is in an early pilot. Some features may be unfinished, change or stop working, and lessons may be revised. Players and coaches aren't charged to use the app during the pilot. Private sessions with a coach (section 8) are the exception: those are paid. If we start charging players or coaches, we'll show the price and the terms of payment before you're asked to pay, and nothing you've done before then will be charged.
Club fees. A club, school or keeper program may pay for a team's season. We send it an invoice through Stripe that shows the price and the season it covers; once it's paid, every player on that team has access for that season. If the club has a separate written agreement with us, that agreement sets its fees and payment terms and wins over this paragraph.
Changes to the app. We may add, change or remove features or lessons. If we stop offering Advantage altogether, we'll try to tell you in advance.
Ending your account. You can delete your account at any time under Me → Account → Delete account. If you're a player on a team, your coaches are told that you deleted your account, and any upcoming private sessions are cancelled under section 8. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk or exposes us to legal liability; where it's safe and lawful, we'll tell you why. Sections 6 (ideas), 8 (for any session already booked or paid), 9 and 10 still apply after an account closes.
8. Private sessions
What they are. Where we've switched them on for a club, a player can book a paid 1-on-1 session, by video or in person, with a coach on their own team. Advantage takes the booking and the payment. The coach runs the session as an independent coach, not as Advantage's employee or agent, and Advantage doesn't supervise it.
Who books and pays. For a player under 18, a parent or guardian approves and pays, and agrees once a year to the session rules below before paying. Players 18 and over book and pay for themselves. Prices are in US dollars and are the full price: nothing is added at checkout. Payment is by card through our payment provider, Stripe; we never see full card numbers.
Session rules for players under 18.
- Sessions are 1-on-1 between the player and a coach on their team.
- A parent or guardian may join any video session and watch any in-person session.
- In-person sessions happen at the place listed when booking, where a parent can watch, never in a private home.
- Emails about a session go to the parent or guardian.
- Private sessions have no bearing on team selection.
Cancellations and refunds.
- The family can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before the start. Later than that, the session is paid in full and isn't refunded.
- If the coach cancels or doesn't show up, or we cancel, the payer gets a full refund.
- A request the coach doesn't answer within 2 days, or a session that isn't paid by the time shown, is cancelled and nothing is charged.
- If something goes wrong, report it in the app or to help@advantagesports.io within 24 hours after the session. We'll look into it and may refund.
- Refunds go back to the card that paid, usually within 5 to 10 business days.
Coaches who sell sessions agree to:
- keep their SafeSport training and background check current, and follow their club's rules on private training;
- hold each session at the time booked, on the video link or at the place listed, and follow the session rules above;
- take payment for sessions booked in the app only through the app, and handle cancellations and refunds by cancelling in the app;
- be paid their share, the price less Advantage's 12% fee, through Stripe after the session, under Stripe's Connected Account Agreement. Coaches are responsible for their own taxes; Stripe may send them a 1099 tax form.
We may hold a coach's payout while a reported problem or a card dispute is looked into, and we may take back a payout for a session that's later refunded. We may stop a coach selling sessions at any time, for example if their clearance lapses.
9. Disclaimers and limits on liability
The app is provided "as is". We work hard to make the lessons accurate and safe, but we don't promise that the app will always be available, error-free or right for your situation, or that it will improve your results, earn you a place on a team or lead to a college opportunity. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limits on liability. To the extent the law allows, Advantage isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data or opportunities, arising from the app. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Other people's conduct. Advantage isn't responsible for the conduct of coaches, players, parents, clubs or anyone else who uses the app, whether in the app or outside it, including the messages they send and the sessions they run. That includes private sessions: we take the booking and the payment, but the coach, not Advantage, runs the session and is responsible for what happens in it. To the extent the law allows, you release Advantage from claims arising from another user's conduct. This release doesn't cover our own obligations under these terms, such as refunds for private sessions, or liability the law doesn't let us limit (see "Limits on liability" above). If you live in California, you waive California Civil Code section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."
Coaches. If you're a coach, you'll cover Advantage's reasonable losses and legal costs from claims that arise from your coaching, your messages, your conduct with players, or your breach of these terms or the Coach Code of Conduct.
10. Disputes, app stores, changes and contact
Disputes. If you have a problem with Advantage, email us first; most things can be sorted out quickly. If we can't resolve it within 30 days, either of us can take it further. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in San Francisco County, California, except that either of us may bring a claim in small claims court.
Apple App Store. If you got Advantage from Apple's App Store:
- these terms are between you and Advantage, not Apple, and Advantage alone is responsible for the app, its content, support and maintenance;
- if the app doesn't meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app;
- Advantage, not Apple, is responsible for any claim about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and claims that the app infringes someone's intellectual property;
- you confirm you aren't in a country under a US government embargo or on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties;
- you'll follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your wireless carrier's;
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Google Play. If you got Advantage from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply to your download.
Changes to these terms. If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and, for an important change, tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Advantage after that, the new terms apply.
Everything else. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term right away doesn't mean we give it up. You can't transfer your account or these terms; we may transfer them to a company that takes over Advantage.
